MAKING INFORMED DECISIONS
Learn about a four-step decision making process for teams to determine the needs of students with print disabilities and make appropriate suggestions regarding selection, acquisition, and use of AIM.
The AIM Navigator is a tool that guides you as you are considering a student's needs.
While it is not a screening or diagnostic tool, the Navigator consists of a series of guiding questions to assist teams with decision-making about need, selection, acquisition, and use of accessible instructional materials. Informational supports for completing each decision-making step are available throughout.

The Protocol for Accommodations in Reading (PAR)was developed to create a systematic process to outline evidence-based practices when making decisions about reading accommodations and is available for free download (click on PAR link above). Several AT Reps have already practiced using this tool and found it very helpful. If you would like to learn how to use it, please contact your Building AT Rep. If that person has not been trained, they can contact Molly Brusstar, Robin Brighton, Katrina Djokic, Tina Fields or Lindsey Vickers for training.
